Congratulations to the Tuskegee University Department of Nursing Class of 2009 for achieving 100 percent pass rate in the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Entry into the practice of nursing is regulated by the licensing authorities within each State. Nursing students from every school/college in the United States and its territories upon completion of the requirement for graduation from their respective institution must pass this examination to be eligible to practice professional nursing and be authorized to use R.N. (Registered Nurse) beside their names. To ensure public protection, each jurisdiction requires a candidate for licensure to pass an examination that measures the competencies needed to perform safely and effectively as a newly licensed, entry-level nurse. The graduating class of 2009 passed this examination with flying colors.
