Accreditation

The accrediting agency for Schools and Colleges of Veterinary Medicine in the United States is the AmericanVeterinary Medical Association Council on Education (AVMA-COE). After the site visit in October of 2013, The COE placed Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine (TUSVM) on probationary status. The next focused site visit is scheduled for January 2016.

The TUSVM is taking immediate steps to develop a plan to address the reported deficiencies and move toward full accreditation. It is important to understand that the current status of accreditation has no impact on the quality of the educational programs for our students.

The COE requires that all accredited Schools and Colleges of Veterinary Medicine publish their average pass rate for the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE). The pass rate required by the COE is 80% on the NAVLE. The TUSVM average pass rate for the past 8 years is 90%
